PRINCETON — Richard Arnold “Ritchie” Perdue, 60, of Estil Street, Princeton, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born December 5, 1952, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Hobart Junior Perdue and Ellen Lucille Crewey Perdue.

Ritchie was self employed most of his life. While his health permitted, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to flea markets, playing his guitar and talking on his CB radio “Country Boy”. He loved his family and spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Perdue and a sister, Jean Thornton.

Survivors include his fiancée of 25 years, Shirley F. Harvey; stepdaughter, Dreama Jones and her fiancé Glen Edison; stepson, Dwayne Harvey; four grandchildren, Jacob Bailey, Brittany Bailey and fiancé Arnold Tedder, Matthew Harvey and Samantha Harvey; one great-grandson, Elias Tedder and one on the way. Five siblings, Faye and Willis Hunt, Margaret and Ronald Auton, Ruth Martin, David and Marcella Perdue and James and Melinda Perdue. A host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Danny Gunnoe and Fred Farley officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
