William Edward “Eddie” Hale

PRINCETON — William Edward “Eddie” Hale, 67, of Pisgah Road, Princeton, died late Saturday evening, July 10, 2010, at Princeton Community Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born July 1, 1943 in Bluefield, he was the son of the late Joe Moss Hale and Elizabeth Wroaten Hale. Eddie was a graduate of Welch High School and McDowell County Vo-Tech Center.

Eddie was a member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on Halls Ridge Road in Princeton. Eddie retired from EIMCO (formerly Coppinger’s) as a machinist with 28 years of service.

He was an avid outdoorsman and skilled taxidermist. Eddie was a devoted husband, father, grandpa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Carolyn Sue Hale, J. W. Hale, and Martha Elizabeth Farlow “Dixie.”

Survivors include his devoted wife of 44 years, Mary Jean Glover Hale; two loving sons, Williams Scott Hale and wife Lisa of Athens, Timothy Wayne Hale; and the apple of his life, his granddaughter Christina Leanne Hale, who he loved spending time with and affectionately nicknamed her “Knot Head;” three sisters, Mary Louise Kirksey of Prescott, Ariz., Betty Jane Spencer of Welch, Peggy Marlene McCoy of Auora, Colo.; brother, Douglas Eugene Hale of Welch; and a host of nieces and nephews who he enjoyed spending time with.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Dr. John King officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Union.

A time of gathering and sharing will be held on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends may share online condolence via www.memorialfd.com

The honor of serving as pallbearers will be Boss Foley, Marcus Mann, Mark Mann, Kevin Glover, Marshall Glover, H. W. Shires, Joey Glover and Terry Bradley.

The Hale family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
