TAZEWELL, Va. —
James Corbin “Jimmy” Ramey, Jr., age 49, of Tazewell, VA died Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Born January 8, 1964 in Bluefield, WV he was a son of James Corbin “Jim” Ramey, Sr. of Bluefield, VA and the late Peggy Witten Ramey.
Jimmy was the owner and operator of Ramey Ford in Princeton, WV. He attended Bluefield College and was a graduate of NADA Dealer Academy. He was a member of the Bluefield Sales Executives Club, the Tazewell Moose Club, and The Porsche Club of America. Jimmy had a passion for sports cars. He enjoyed amateur racing and participating in competitive driving schools. He also enjoyed hunting and riding ATVs. He was a member of Destiny Outreach Ministries at Springville, VA.
In addition to his father, James Corbin “Jim” Ramey, Sr. and his wife, Katye of Bluefield, VA; Jimmy is survived by his wife, Jessica Chitwood Ramey; one son, James Corbin Ramey, III of Bluefield, WV; three daughters, Carley Witten Ramey and Parker Blair Ramey both of Winston Salem, NC, and Ella Grace Ramey of the home; three sisters, Pam Bowling of Salem, VA, Donna Marinus and Jennifer Turley both of Tazewell, VA.
The family will receive friends for a celebration of his life from 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where services will be conducted at 8 PM with Pastor Steve Branch officiating. Interment and graveside service will be private for the family. Pallbearers will be Corbin Ramey, John Repass, Rusty Moss, Joe McGraw, Stewart “Stew Ball” Whitt, and Josh Gledhill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be directed to Destiny Outreach Ministries, 106 Ireson Rd., North Tazewell, VA 24630.
