BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Patricia Wayne Carter Farthing, 74, of Bluefield, Virginia passed away November 13, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, West Virginia. Born in Tazewell County, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Tracy Walker Carter and Loretta Kitts Carter.
Patricia worked as cafeteria manager for Dudley Elementary School in Bluefield, Virginia for 30 years after which she retired in 2005.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Edward Farthing and brother, Joseph Henry Carter.
Survivors include one son, Frank Farthing and wife Shannon of Bluefield, Virginia; three brothers, Lynn B. Carter and wife Faye of Radford, Virginia, Tracy Carter of Pulaski, Virginia and Kenneth Carter of Tip Top, Virginia; two sisters, Jacqueline Sager and husband Jim of Weyers Cave, Virginia and Stella C. Walker of Pulaski, Virginia; one grandson, Dakota Walker Farthing and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Virginia with the Rev. Reginald Blakewood officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia. Friends may call Sunday, November 15, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Virginia. Pallbearers will be nephews.
