BASTIAN, Va. —
Her love of her Savior and her family was evident to all who met her. She was generous and caring beyond measure.
She was born November 7, 1935 to the late James and Ethel Baker Turner. Upon graduation from Rocky Gap High School, she attended West Virginia Business College. Mrs. Stowers was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was always active in her church, Fellowship Baptist Church in Princeton, W.Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by five brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Daniel Stowers; daughter, Becky and husband Paul Worley of Bastian; daughter, Mary of the home; daughter, Donna and husband Robert Jackson of Bland; son Danny and wife Melinda of Bastian, son, Harvey and wife Cherie of Bastian; and daughter, Anna and husband Bryan of Bland; one sister, Nona Lea of Colonial Heights, Va.; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous others who will always remember her as “mamaw”.
The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Saturday May 18, 2013 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Klaiber and Rev. Ron Thomure officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va., where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
