WHITEWOOD, Va. —
On May 14, 2013, the clouds opened up Jesus stepped out, stretched his hand and said: Its time Mildred you have won the race Come on Home. Mildred Evelyn Wills Catron, age 92, of Whitewood, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at her home.
She was born in Wise County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Lydia Johnson Wills. Mildred was a graduate of Whitewood High School in Whitewood, Virginia. She was a 50 year member of Baptist Bible Church in Pilgrim Knob, Virginia and was the former manager of the Whitewood High School Cafeteria. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer J. Catron; one daughter, Barbara Catron; two sons, Roger Catron and Dennis Catron; three sisters; six brothers and special friend, Larry Honaker (whom was a faithful visitor).
Her survivors are: five daughters: Judy Beverly of Palm Beach, Florida, Gale Wimmer of Whitewood, Virginia, Deborah Deel of Garner, North Carolina, Janet Zarea and husband, Reza of Durham, North Carolina, Lisa Catron of Mars Hill, North Carolina; two sons: Ron Catron, Sr. of Petersburg, Virginia, John Catron and wife, Ann of Carrollton, Virginia. Eighteen grandchildren: Sarah Beth, Julia, Molly, Denita, Clark, Stephen, Tammy, Tracey, Shelia, Ron, Jr. Clyde, Jr, Crystal, Peter, Daniel, Melissa, Raleigh, Shariyar, Raana; twenty-eight great-grandchildren, one great-grea-grandchild also survive. Special devoted neighbors who never failed to come when needed, Archie and Cathy White. Special friends: Gay Maxwell, Shelby Maxwell, Lola Wimmer, Ernestine Honaker, Ray and Thelma Honaker. Two wonderful ladies that made it possible for our mother to live the final years of her life at home. Their care and compassion, but most of all their love for mother will never be forgotten: Jean Justus and Betty Hagerman.
Funeral services for Mildred Evelyn Willis Catron will be conducted Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Baptist Bible Church in Pilgrim Knob, Virginia with Rev. Andy Maynard officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Virginia. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Baptist Bible Church in Pilgrim Knob, Virginia.
