Ercell Emma “Molly” Meadows

OAKVALE — Ercell Emma “Molly” Meadows, 89, of Cheesy Creek Road near Oakvale, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va. Born November 14, 1923 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Okie Easter and Ibera Edward Easter.

Molly was a retired employee of the Celanese Corporation in Pearisburg, Va. with 39 1/2 years service in the Beaming Department. She attended the New Zion Regular Baptist Church when her health permitted and had been a resident of the Oakvale area most of her life. Molly enjoyed planting and harvesting her vegetable garden. She also loved to crochet, knit, and work all kinds of puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Homer Meadows; four brothers, Russell Easter, Mason Easter, Rennis Easter, and Edgar Easter; and three sisters, Jessie Cowden, Anna Lee Beitzel, and Leafy Conrad.

Survivors include two daughters, Georgia Church and husband Billy Joe and Vera Etta Bushinsky all of Cheesy Creek; one nephew, whom she raised and considered a son, Jesse James Meadows; eight grandchildren, Joe Church and wife Tina of Portland, Ore., Kenneth Church of Princeton, Tina Bushinsky of Northfork, W.Va., Rick Bushinsky of San Diego, Calif., George Bushinsky of Florida, Saundra Krize and husband George of East Haven, Conn., Pamula Pisano of Las Vegas, Nev., and Kimberly Sasso of East Haven, Conn.; and two sisters, Pansy Bowling and Louise Kopeck both of Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2013 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Archie Bowling and Pastor Terry Easter officiating. Burial will follow at the New Zion Cemetery, Rt. 3, Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013 (today).
