BURKE’S GARDEN, Va. —
Ralph Bernard Cunningham Jr., age 59, of Burke's Garden, Va., died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Welmont Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tenn. from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born October 18, 1953 at Parkersburg, W.Va., he was a son of Betsy Eddy Cunningham Cook of Kimbolton, Ohio and the late Ralph B. Cunningham Sr. He retired from Republic Steel in Canton, Ohio after more than 30 years working as a crane operator. He was a very caring man who enjoyed woodworking, archery, fishing, and especially loved helping people.
In addition to his mother, Betsy Cook of Kimbolton, Ohio and her husband, Joseph; he is survived by his wife, Connie Labertew Cunningham; three sons, Ralph Cunningham III and wife, Heidi, Jessie Lee Cunningham both of Ohio; and Michael Cummings of Texas; one daughter, Twaina Cunningham of Ohio; two stepbrothers, Johnny Cook and Joey Cook and their families; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and many loving friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Tazewell Church of Christ in Tazewell, Va. with Ministers Floyd Bailey and Conway Hutton officiating. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be directed to Tazewell Church of Christ, 818 E. Fincastle Tpk., Tazewell, VA 24651 or a favorite charity.
