Edith G. Hill, 84, of Princeton Health Care Center, formerly of 210 E. Third Street in Princeton, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at her residence. Born April 10, 1928 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Hill and Elizabeth Louise Thornton Hill.
She was a homemaker and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Edith was a member of the East River Ruritan Club in Oakvale and was a very active member of the New Zion Regular Baptist Church, Route 3, Princeton until her declining health no longer permitted her participation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bural Maynard Hill, Dewey Hill, and Norman Hill, and two sisters, Pauline Comer and Blanche Johnston. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include three nephews, Frank Comer Jr. of Princeton with whom she made her home prior to moving to Princeton Health Care Center, Dewey Hill Jr. of Peterstown, and Robert Johnston and wife Easter of Odd, W.Va.; and one niece, Lois Kimberlin of Coal City, W.Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the New Zion Regular Baptist Church, Route 3, Princeton with Pastor Roger Hatfield, Pastor Archie Bowling, and Pastor Chris Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at the New Zion Cemetery, Route 3, Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Thursday.
