Mike McPherson Sr.

PRINCETON — Mike McPherson, Sr., 62, of Princeton died Sunday, May 04, 2014 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born June 5, 1951 in Princeton he was the son of the late James “Jake” McPherson and Sally Robinette McPherson.

He was a member of the Princeton Church of God. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He retired from Celanese in Salisbury, NC and was a carpenter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Aretta Skeens and Lozetta Pennington.

Survivors include one son, Michael McPherson, Jr. of Atlanta, GA and one daughter, Tonya Raines and fiancé Nathan Trout of Meadow Creek, WV; seven brothers, James “Jay” McPherson and wife Patty of Princeton, John D. McPherson and wife Maryann of Statesville, NC, Larry McPherson and wife Shelby of Bluefield, Robert “Dan” McPherson and wife Kathy of Princeton, Jeffrey McPherson and wife Tammy of Princeton, Rick McPherson of Princeton and Mark McPherson and wife Teresa of Princeton; three sisters, Reba Shaffer of Rockwell, NC, Kay Davis and husband Don of Princeton and Angela Clark and husband Elgin of Spanishburg; five grandchildren, Jessica McPherson, Brooke McPherson, Ethan Raines, Brayden Trout and Mason Trout and one great grandchild, Zachary George.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Fred Farley officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Family will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour on Tuesday, May 6 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
