Born October 7, 1946 in Kellysville, W.Va., he was the son of the late James Ellis and Ilva M. Comer Pendleton.
Leon was a graduate of Oakvale High School and retired after 30 years of service as a fleet mechanic for Pepsico (Pepsi Cola Bottling Plant) in Princeton.
He was an active member and trustee of the New Zion Regular Baptist Church on the Elgood Road, Oakvale where he attended all his life. Leon loved to fish and play his music.
In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by one infant sister, Lakie M. Pendleton and one brother, James “J.C.” Pendleton.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Patricia Pendleton. Also surviving, one daughter, Angela Lynn (Sugar Bunton) Meadows and her husband Adam of Princeton, W.Va.; one son, Anthony (Tony) Lucas and his wife Mandy of Cheesy Creek, W.Va.; four beautiful grandchildren whom he adored, Cortney, Laiken, Devin and Seth; one sister, Frances Wimmer and her friend Howard Anderson of Princeton, W.Va.
We will celebrate the life of Edwin “Leon” Pendleton on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., from the New Zion Regular Baptist Church on the Elgood Road, Oakvale with Pastor Roger Hatfield and Youth Pastor Chris Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the New Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the church.
Pallbearers will be David Pendleton, Mark Pendleton, Ray Lee Graham, Larry Comer, Frank Comer, Jr. and Steve Thompson.
