Brenda Carol Talbott

GRUNDY, Va. —  Born in Feds Creek, Ky. she was the daughter of the late Carson and Sadie Rowe Blackburn. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was a member of the Buchanan First Presbyterian Church, Grundy, Va. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Mrs. Talbott retired after many years of service to the Buchanan County School System in 2012. As an Elementary School Teacher, she taught at P.V. Dennis, J.M. Bevins and Hurley Elementary Schools. She attended the University of Kentucky for two years, graduated from Charleston Southern University, Charleston, S.C., and received her Master’s Degree from Virginia Tech.

She is survived by her husband, James Archie Talbott, Grundy, Va.; three daughters:    Allison Talbott (Benjamin) Street, Vansant, Va., Megan LeAnne (Brandon) Dale, Damascus, Va., Sarah Elizabeth Talbott, Grundy, Va.; three sisters: Audrey Childress, Mouthcard, Ky., Jean Ann (Jessie) Woodard, Bushnell, Fla., Betty (James) Saskowsky, Ruckersville, Va. Also, survived by two grandchildren: Wyatt James Street and Canyon Wilder Dale.

Funeral Services for Brenda Carol Talbott will be conducted Friday, June 14, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Stacy and Tommy P. Justus officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, Va.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. to await the funeral hour at 3:00 p.m.

Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
