TAZEWELL, Va. —
TAZEWELL, Va. — Robert Wayne Sargent, age 43, of Witten Valley in Tazewell, Va. went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 16, 2014. Born September 28, 1970 in Tazewell County, Va., he was a son of the late, Bobby Eugene Sargent and Iva Carol Honaker Sargent. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. He was a big Pittsburgh Steeler and Nascar fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Samantha Sargent and Terry Matney; one brother, David Sargent; maternal grandparents, Grover and Gladys Honaker. He was a good husband, father, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa A. Witten Sargent; two sons, Bobby Ray Sargent of the home and Robert Wayne Riley of Martinsville, Va.; one sister, Tammy Waddell and husband, Ronnie of Gainesville, Fla.; two brothers, Doug Sargent and companion, Barbara Rowe and Gary Sargent and companion, Tammy Chambers, all of Tazewell, Va.; three step-children, Dustin Lee Witten, Cody Witten, and Holly Shelton all of Tazewell, Va.; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with the Reverend Russell Honaker officiating and remarks by his stepson, Cody Shelton. Burial will follow at Witten Cemetery at Witten Valley in Tazewell, Va. Pallbearers will be Dustin Witten, Cody Shelton, Tom Lewis, Jerry Lewis, James Lewis, Mike Byrd, Larry Mullins, and Marlin Sage.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
