Born January 13, 1936, at Herndon, she was the daughter of the late Coy Reed and Marie Williams Reed.
Mona was a graduate of Herndon High School and a member of Stinson United Methodist Church on the Oakvale Road in Princeton.
While Mona's health permitted, she enjoyed horseback riding, square dancing, flowers and playing Bingo.
Mona was a retired machine operator for the Maindenform Corporation with 35 years of service and was a member of the I.G.L.W.U.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Bailey.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 29 years, Thomas “Tom” Compton; her son and his wife, Dr. Eugene Franklin “Frank” and Dianne Johnson Jr. of Princeton; One grandson, Stephen Johnson; three siblings, Robert Reed of Indiana, Danny and Sonja Reed and Fairley Reed, all of Speedway; caregiver, Teresa Phillips.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Devin Olachea officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Wildwood Mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Online condolence may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com
Family and friends will service as pallbearers.
