David Lewis Spangler, Jr.
CONCORD, N.C.— With his loving mother by his side, David Lewis Spangler, Jr., of Concord, N.C., went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
Born February 28, 1974 in Princeton, W.Va., David is the son of Kathy Spangler Scott and the late David Spangler, Sr. David’s love of life and outreach to help others touched all those who knew him.
David loved watching his son play football and coaching his son and other young people. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his Father, David is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jack and Gladys (Granny) Taylor, paternal grandparents Conrad Theodore and Theresa Spangler and cousin Billy Mills.
In addition to his loving Mother, survivors include his step-dad, Rick Scott; his son, David Lewis Spangler, III (D3) which David, Jr. said is his most precious gift in life. The love of his life and mother of his son, Lisa Lambert. His step-mom, Judy Spangler, his three brothers, Justin Spangler, Casey Scott and Jaime Whitt; his two sisters, Shawna Blankenship and Ronja Kress, his step-grandmother Margaret Spangler and his loving aunts, Patty, Connie, Mar Mar and Jackie and a Host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
David’s family would like to acknowledge his special friends, Eric Porterfield his brother in Christ and Jay Murphy and Danny Blankenship (Lee) his brothers in life. Also, the Princeton Church of God and especially Pastor Fred Farley.
On Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. we will celebrate the life of David Spangler, Jr. from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Eric Porterfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery on the Eads Mill Road, near Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family today, Friday, April 19, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends and family may share online messages of love via www.memorialfd.com.
Serving as pallbearers will be David’s two brothers, Justin Spangler and Jamie Whitt, and four cousins, Jim Skeens, Jay Murphy, Robert Gilpin and Sean Gilpin. Honorary pallbearers will be Casey Scott and Joshua Griffith.
