Roy Allen Horn

CEDAR BLUFF, Va. —  Born April 6, 1941 in Buchanan County, Virginia he was the son of the late Roby and Mona Horn.  Roy was a graduate of Tazewell High School and was a United States Army Veteran.  He was a retired railroad brakeman for the railroad.  Roy attended the Open Door and Jones Chapel churches.  He was an avid gardener.   

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carnes C. Horn.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Gilbert Horn; two brothers, Hubert Horn and wife Sandra of Springville, VA and Lawrence Russell Horne and wife Carol of Baptist Valley, VA; four sisters, Dorothy Matney and husband Bill of Springville, VA, Jeanette Ratliff and husband Jack of Baptist Valley, VA, Ann White and husband Reece of Orlando, FL and Mayolla Roseman of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with the Rev. Leon O’Quinn and the Rev. Bobby Laney officiating.  Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.   Military graveside rites will be conducted by Casey-Shortt VFW Post 9640.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
