BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Ruth Wyatt Sluss, 80, of Bluefield, Virginia passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, West Virginia. Born in Pocahontas, Virginia she was the daughter of the late James Monroe and Mollie Absher Wyatt.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kelly Elwood Sluss, one son Michael Sluss and two sisters Ruby Whited and Verna Harrell.
Survivors include one daughter Debra Bruce and husband Gerald of Galloway, Ohio; three sisters, Gail Whitlow of Bluefield, Virginia, Shirley Stringfellow of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina and Irene Wyatt of Bluefield, Virginia; grandchildren, Kelly Gunther, Jennifer Frazier, Michael Cooper, Jared Bruce and Aaron Sluss.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2:30 pm at the Rodriguez Bluefield Funeral Home in Bluefield, Virginia with retired Pastor and Deacon Clay Phillips officiating. Friends may call Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at the Rodriguez Bluefield Funeral Home in Bluefield, Virginia. Internment will take place Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10:00 am at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia. The family asks that everyone meet at the cemetery at 10:00 am.
