TAZEWELL, Va. —
Mrs. Carrie Moore Richmond, age 85, of Tazewell, Va. passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell. Born June 29, 1927 in Tazewell, Va., she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Matilda Bandy Moore.
Mrs. Richmond was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a homemaker. She was also a member of the Midway Church of Christ in Tazewell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Roy R. Richmond III and Charles D. Lee; two sisters and 10 brothers.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Roy Richmond; two daughters, Syrneetra Richmond of Tazewell, Va. and Chiquita Winfrey of Charlotte, N.C.; three sons, Dale and Gerald Richmond and Danny Willis all of Tazewell, Va.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with the Reverend Nelson McCall officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Va. Pallbearers will be Emory Jordan, Shea Moore, Jermane Jordan, Donovan Moore, Keith Morrison, Mike Moore and Darrell Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Bev Smith, Sam Watkins, Ronnie Thompson and Hub Moore.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 12 o'clock noon Wednesday.
