PRINCETON — Born May 21, 1933 at Montcalm he was the son of the late Arthur M. Woody and Oka Hayter Woody.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Korean War. He was a 1959 graduate of Bluefield State College and taught school in Bramwell for 28 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl F. Woody and Ernest W. Woody.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Anna Jo Ratliff Woody; two daughters, Dianna Linkous and husband Nelson J. Linkous, II of Bluewell and Kimberly Blankenship and husband Jack Blankenship of Hudson, N.C.; four grandchildren, Miranda Linkous of Bluefield, Nelson J. Linkous, III and wife Sara of Huntington, Sherri Blankenship of Hudson, N.C. and Emma Blankenship of Hudson, N.C.; one brother, Theodore Woody of Richmond, Va.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Ronald Booher officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Military honors will be conducted by the West Virginia National Guard Honor Guard.
