David V. Clevenger, age 41, of Kimball, W.Va. (Carswell Hollow), formerly of Iaeger, W.Va. went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Welch Community Hospital after a sudden illness. Born February 9, 1972 in Nuremburg, Germany, he was the son of Loretta Bailey Atwell of Raysal, W.Va. and the late Jesse Clevenger.
He was affiliated with the Pentecostal Holiness faith, a former coal truck driver, and last worked for P.T.I. He was a resident of Iaeger most of his life.
Other than his father, Jesse Clevenger, he was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
Those left to cherish his memory: His wife of 16 months, Sarah Richardson Clevenger of the home. His mother, Loretta Bailey Atwell and husband Donald of Raysal, W.Va. His son, Tony David Clevenger of Iaeger, W.Va. His daughter, Sarah LeShea Clevenger of Winston-Salem, N.C. His brother, Gary Clevenger and fiancee Merrie of Welch, W.Va. His sister, Leslie Wade and husband Mark of Iaeger, W.Va. Two stepbrothers, Marty Atwell of Charleston, W.Va. and Michael Atwell and wife Maxine of Welch, W.Va. One stepsister, Cristy Atwell of Ridgeway, N.C. Also, three nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 20, 2013, at 12:00 noon, at the First Church of the Nazarene, Welch, W.Va. with the Rev. Angela Stress and the Rev. Virgil "Pete" Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Reed Cemetery, Coon Branch Mt., Iaeger, W.Va.
Friends may call Sunday night at the First Church of the Nazarene, Welch, W.Va. from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Mullins, Danny Clevenger Jr., Keith Bailey, Willard Bailey, Michael Atwell, and Cody Reynolds.
