Born October 4, 1942 in Mercer County she was the daughter of the late Robert Wilson Haywood and Willie Lee Belcher Haywood. Lily was a former cook and waitress at the Bluefield Moose Lodge and the Oakwood Restaurant in Princeton. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford A. Jones Sr.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Jones and wife Joyce of Princeton; two daughters, Janet Morris and husband Ricky of Glen Lyn, VA and Norma Castillo of Bluefield; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six step-children; two sisters, Blanche “Joy” Atkins of Princeton and Lisa Brinkley of Bluefield; and two brothers, David “Daniel” Haywood of Beckley, WV and Wayne Darnell Haywood of Hardy, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2013 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Willard Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Hardy, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Friday.
