Homer Lee Nance Jr., age 49, of Anawalt, W.Va. (Elkhorn Mt.), died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at his residence. Born May 9, 1963 in Alexandria, Virginia, he was the son of Homer Texas Nance Sr. of Anawalt, W.Va. and the late Barbara Mullis Nance.
He was a former self-employed Auto Mechanic, and was a former member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a loving father, son, and brother. He was a former resident of Mt. Holly, N.C. and had resided in Anawalt the past 10 years.
Other than his mother who died in 2001, Barbara Mullis Nance, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Lester Nance in 2004. Also his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His father, Homer Texas Nance Sr. of Anawalt, W.Va.; his daughter, Tara Heidel and husband Rob of Orlando, Fla.; his brother, David Nance of Anawalt, W.Va.; his sister, Brenda Sizemore and husband Dwight of Princeton, W.Va.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 13, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, W.Va. with the Rev. Omar Burns officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
