BLAND, Va. —
She was born on October 13, 1937 at Nemours, W.Va., the daughter of the late George Allen and Mae Belcher Tate. She was also preceded in death by three half-brothers and three half-sisters. She was a member of Laurel Fork Baptist Church, Rocky Gap, a member of Woodbine Homemakers Club, Manassas, Va., and touched the lives of many children under her care.
She is survived by her husband, Roger L. Morehead; one daughter, Melanie Morehead, Bealeton, Va.; two sons, DuWayne B. Morehead, Colonial Beach, Va.; Tony Morehead and wife, Catherine of Manassas, Va.; one brother, Jackie Shupe, Hillsville; one sister, Nancy Crites, Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren, Amanda, Trevor and Peyton Morehead, Austin Cornwell; two step-grandchildren, Stefanie Millings and Cortney Woolsey; two step-great-grandchildren, Devin and Jordan Millings; two God daughters, Kammie and Karissa Bingham.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Laurel Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery, Hollybrook. Visitation will be Friday at the church where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The family is in the care of A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate.
