JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —
Benjamin Homer Kanode, 78, of Jacksonville Fla., formerly of Princeton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Jacksonville Florida.
Born October 16, 1934 in Princeton, he was the son of the late Daniel Webster Kanode and Sadie M. French Kanode.
Ben worked as a property manager in the real estate business. He was a clock aficionado; he had several clocks in every room of the house.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings: Violet Lucas, Stella Skeens, Juanita Archer, Sam Kanode and Ray Kanode.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of many years, Shirley Hill Kanode; one sister, Betty Duncan of Jacksonville, Florida, Although, Ben never had children of his own, he was a daddy to all of his nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday evening, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
