Junior Broyles

OAKVALE — Junior Broyles, 86, of Double Oaks Drive, Oakvale died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Springfield Center in Lindside, WV. Born February 27, 1927 in Mercer County he was the son of the late Oley Wesley Broyles and Nellie Neely Broyles.

Junior was a retired maintenance supervisor for Celanese Corporation in Narrows, VA with forty-four years service. He was a member of Johnston's Chapel Baptist Church in Princeton and had been a lifelong resident of the Oakvale area. Junior loved his church and attended faithfully until ill health curtailed his attendance. He was an avid fisherman and bowled for sports enjoyment. Junior's favorite hobby was woodworking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Virginia Akers Broyles; three brothers, Haven Broyles, Rufus Broyles, and Lee Broyles; and two sisters, Bessie Comer and Mary Brown.

Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Harvey and husband Jack of Lindside, WV and Sandra Meadows and husband Danny of Ballard, WV; one son, Mark Broyles and wife Eugenia of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Jill Ballard and husband Mick of Peterstown, WV, April Osbourne and husband Byron of Christiansburg, VA, Wendy Cantrell and husband Jonathan, Jessica Machnic and husband Troy, Jared Broyles and Travis Broyles all of Princeton, and Clinton Lewis and wife Tiffany of Hodgenville, KY; nine great-grandchildren, Caleb Ballard, Morgan Ballard, Eli Ballard, Chase Cantrell, Gabriel Cantrell, MaCayla Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Paige Machnic, and Olivia Machnic; one brother, Eugene Broyles and wife Betty of Princeton; and extended family and caregivers, Janet Hoops, Linda Adkins, Cathy Broyles, Shirley Tackett, and the staff at Springfield Center.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor John King officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, August 30, 2013 (today).
