SPANISHBURG — Robert Eugene ”Gene” Anderson, 59, of Spanishburg, was carried to his home with the Lord on Friday, August 23, 2013.

Born June 18, 1954 in Ravenna, OH he was the son of Ella Underwood of Princeton. He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Eric Anderson and one sister, Regina.

Eugene grew up in Premier and worked for U.S. Steel and was a mechanic most of his life until he became disabled.

 He was a hard working man who never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone. Eugene loved to hunt, fish and go ginsenging. He loved the outdoors and was a country man. He was a great father, son, husband and grandfather who will be dearly missed. “May you rest in peace until we meet again.”

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Holcomb. Three children, Carrie Price-Anderson and husband Michael Price, Rachel Anderson and John Michael Anderson all of Princeton. Grandchildren, Shane, Mikaylia, Chelsea and Karey Wimmer and Ashley Anderson. Great-grandchildren, Jaylin, Ayanna, Aireonna and Ny'Asia. Two sisters, Terri Lynn Whistlehunt and Ella Hocket. Three stepchildren, Salleah E. Calfee and husband, Maggie A. Tiller and husband and Jeffrey (JJ) Holcomb. Three step-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held 1:00 PM, today (Tuesday), August 27, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Dan Webb officiating.

The family has honored his request, his body has been cremated.
