John Arvai

BLUEFIELD — John Arvai, 76, of 3106 Maple Acres Road in Bluefield died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his residence. Born March 17, 1937 in Kyle, WV, he was the son of the late Joseph Arvai and Theresa Halasz Arvai.

He was retired from beer sales and distribution with forty years service last working at Mercer Wholesale. John was a Northfork High School graduate and a member of the Greenview United Methodist Church in Green Valley. He was also a member of Princeton Elks Lodge #1459. John had a great personality, had many friends, and deeply loved his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Arvai. Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Shirley June Croy Arvai of Bluefield; one son, Wayne Arvai and wife Rebecca of Bluefield; one daughter, Terry Long and husband John of Kingsport, TN; two grandchildren, Jason Long and wife Roni and Jennifer Steck and husband Alan; four great-grandchildren, Jaylee Long, Peyton Long, Caden Steck, and Carlie Steck; and one sister, Betty Jones and husband Bobby of Princeton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Greenview United Methodist Church in Green Valley with the Rev. Rick Chester officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 25, 2013 (today).
