Thomas Street

WILMINGTON, Del. — “There are many things in life, that we cannot understand, but we trust God's judgment and be guided by his hand.”

Thomas Street was born Aug. 17, 1945 in Amonate, Va. He was the son of the late Lonnie and Addie Mae (Thompson) Street.

On August 21, 2012, he was called home after residing at Genesis Hillside Center in Wilmington, Del. Thomas attended elementary school in Fairday, W.Va., he attended middle school in Berwind, W.Va. and Excelsor High School to complete his schooling at Park Central. Thomas played football and basketball at the schools. He was employed at Lugo Funeral Home; the powder plant in Radford, Va.; Chrysler Plant in Detroit, and Chrysler in Wilmington, Del. where he retired.

Thomas is preceded in death by his belated wife, Emma Street; his parents, Lonnie T. and Addie M. Street; one brother, Lonnie T. Street Jr.; and one sister, Lena M. LaPradd.

He leaves to cherish his memory his ex-wife, Bernice (Street) Thomas; his two children, Thomas Street, and Dowanna Street; along with his grandchildren; his brothers, John Street of Columbus, Ohio; Tyrone Street and Gerome Street of Charleston, W.Va., Warner Baxter and wife, Ann Baxter of Cleveland, Ohio; his sisters, Yolanda Page (Mark) of Bluefield, W.Va., Eulisa Street of Charleston, W.Va., Bonnie Thompson (Earl) of Brushfork, W.Va., and Phyllis Marshall (Walter) of Detroit, Mich.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial services will be conducted on Friday, Aug., 31 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church with Bishop Clarence Moore officiating.
