HONAKER, Va. —
Rebecca Mae Christine Leftwich Grizzle, age 58, of Honaker, Va., died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon, Va. Born June 22, 1954 in Tazewell, Va., she was a daughter of James Leftwich and Mary Jane McCoy Leftwich.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Caroline Terry; two brothers, Luther Leftwich and Fred Leftwich.
She is survived by one son, Aaron Compton of the home; two daughters, Janice Hess of Rowe, Va. and Sarah Grizzle and fiancé, Jeremy Mathena of Council, Va.; three sisters, Vernie Taylor and Pam Chambers both of North Tazewell, Va., Velma Grizzle of Spencer, Va., and half sister, Daisy Coleman of Farmville, Va.; three brothers, Larry Leftwich of Swords Creek, Va., Harold Leftwich of Bristol, Tenn., and Darrell Leftwich of Tip Top, Va.; four grandchildren, Kayla McGlothlin, Chasity Hess, Kristian Hess, and Kayleigh Mathena; special friend, Raymond Grizzle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with the Reverend Kenny Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Va. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Mathena, Fred Leftwich, Keith Leftwich, Michael Taylor, Jerry Dye, Roger Artrip, Morgan Hubbard, and Joey Stevens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
