Juanita Jane Stepp, of Anawalt, formerly the Jenkinjones area, departed this life on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Wythe County Hospital in Wytheville, Va., following a long illness.
Born on July 4, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Roy Stepp and Edna Harman Stepp. She was the oldest of three children. Juanita was a very devoted, caring, and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was our rock. She always put family first, taking on the burdens of others and never trying to burden anyone with anything. Friends and family know that her absolute favorite activity was riding in the car.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John David and his wife Kimmie Cox-Stepp.
Juanita will be lovingly remembered by her son, Sammy Jarrod Stepp, of the home, and two daughters, Rosedna Hawley of Springville, Va. and Ruby Davis of Bluefield, W.Va. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Ashley and Calvin Powers, Courtney Paige Stepp, Amber Davis, T.J. Coe, and Jaris Hawley. Great-grandchildren include Jeremiah Eli Davis and Jackson Gage French and Hayden Powers. She is survived by her two younger brothers, as well, Kenneth Ray Stepp and Jerry Lee (Betty) Stepp, both of Anawalt, W.Va. In addition, she also leaves behind many other relatives and close friends, all of whom she cared for in her own special way.
In accordance with her specified wishes, there will be no services, wake, or viewing, and she will be cremated. She asked that she be remembered at her best. She will be greatly missed.
