Zella Marie England, age 84, of Hensley, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday afternoon, October 26, 2013, at Princeton Health Care in Princeton, WV. Born July 27, 1929, in Iaeger, WV, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Liza Blankenship Lester.
Mrs. England was a homemaker and a Child of the King.
Preceded in death by, in addition to her parents, her husband, Dennis England; one son, Freddie (Bogie) England; five brothers; two sisters; and one son-in-law, Earl J. Whistlehunt.
Survivors include three daughters, Gay Smith of Bluefield, WV, Kathy Whistlehunt Brown and husband Darrell of Bluefield, VA, Marge Wright and husband Herman of Bluefield, WV; four sons, James England and wife Brenda Gay of Roanoke, VA, Leonard, Harvey and Greg England all of Hensley; six sisters, Ethel Shepherd of Pembroke, VA, Betty Lester of Pontiac, MI, Rosie Hayes of Sweetwater, TN, Roxie Cox of Pinnacle, NC, Barbara Hunt of Welch, Brenda Steele of High Point, NC; thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren; with one great-great-grandson to be born soon.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 2 P.M. from the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch with the Reverend Ralph Steele and the Reverend Michael Brooks, officiating. Burial will follow at the England Cemetery in Hensley.
Friends may call Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home, from 1 to 2 P.M.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
