GARY — Margaret G. Easterling, 92, formerly of Brushy Fork Ridge near Paynesville, WV, finished her family duties October 25, 2013 in the McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Gary, WV.   

Margaret was born October 15, 1921, in Hemphill, WV, a daughter of the late Luther J. and Lena L. Williams Bromfield. She graduated from Welch High School in 1940 and was a loving mother and an avid reader, a seamstress, and a scout leader.  She enjoyed canning and was a store clerk at Semet/Solvay in Hemphill, WV. Margaret was the last surviving member of her original family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd "Smokey" Easterling in 1997, one son, Luther Easterling, and two brothers, James and Dewey Bromfield.

Survivors include her children, Kirk Easterling and wife Elsie of Paynesville, WV, Ted Easterling and wife Susan of Blacksburg, VA, Jimmy Easterling and wife Shirley of Paynesville, WV, Becky Stacy and husband Delmer of Wytheville, VA, Tina Sellers and husband Steve of Bristol, TN, and Bonnie Asbury and husband John of Charleston, WV; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Faye Bromfield of Corpus Christi, TX; and a special sister-in-law, Jo Lakin and husband Doug of Pikeville, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 28, 2013, at 1 o’clock, with the Reverend Bob Blevins officiating at the Bradshaw Mountain Community Church on Bradshaw Mountain near Paynesville, WV. Burial will follow in Easterling/Vance Cemetery on Brushy Fork Ridge near Paynesville, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Lena Easterling, Joseph Stacy, Damon Proffitt, Chauncey Easterling, Jeffery Easterling, Aaron Easterling, and Steve Sellers.

Friends may visit with the family at the Bradshaw Mountain Community Church on Bradshaw Mountain near Paynesville, WV, Monday morning, October 28, 2013, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m.
