PRINCETON — Ralph Meron Wade, 94, of Halls Ridge Road Princeton, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at his residence.

Born in Herndon, W.Va. on March 3, 1919 to the late, Calvin Meron and Mae Rebecca Wimmer Wade. Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Henrietta Treadway Wade on December 10, 2009 and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Ralph was a plumber by trade working for himself and several companies over the years including Corte Construction, Disibbio Brothers, Earl Hale Construction, Tommy Weatherford and West Virginia Pipeline. He was talented in his field and continued to clean furnaces for a few special customers until he was 90 years old.

He took pleasure in raising a garden, going to church and teasing those who were his friends and acquaintances. But one of his great loves were children, always finding a hidden toy, a self invented device made out of spare PVC pipe to play marbles with or a battery operated car. Even the neighbor children would knock on his door and ask if Ralph could come out and play.

But the most important decision Ralph ever made in his life was back in 1953 when a young man came to Princeton to hold a revival, the late Reverend Jimmie Jones. At the close of the service, Ralph accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. From that day on his life changed and that change reflected upon his family.

Church was where you always went at each occasion there was a service. He served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, committee member, bus driver and choir member over the course of years. Upon his death, he was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
