VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Tootsie Anderson, 97, of Virginia Beach, Va. died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 in the Sentara Princess Ann Hospital in Virginia Beach.

Born February 18, 1916 in Hemphill, WV, she was the daughter of the late Tom Broomfield and Margaret (Maggie) Lawless Broomfield. She was a mother to almost everyone she touched in her long life.

She spent her entire life as a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Otis Ray Anderson along with two brothers and a sister and a daughter-in-law, Ethel “Queenie” Tramel.

Survivors include one daughter, Polly McClung and husband Dale of Charles Town, WV. One son, Ray Tramel of Virginia Beach, VA. Five grandchildren, Dreva Esparza, Charles Harry, Jackie Harry, David Tramel and Vernon McClung. Four great-grandchildren, Michael Esparza, Jessica McClung, Joshua and Jessie James Harry.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Tootsie Anderson will be at 11 AM Saturday, October 19, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor William Pollack officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
