BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Sherry Ellen Sluss, 59, of Bluefield, Virginia passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at her home. Born in Goody, Kentucky she was the daughter of Mildred Hampton of Cedar Bluff, Virginia and the late Woodrow Hampton.
She was self employed and worked for Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California. Sherry also attended Christ First United Methodist Church in Abbs Valley, Virginia.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Hampton.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lee Sluss of the home; three daughters, Lisa Harris and husband Dwayne of Newport News, Virginia, Carrie Kirby and companion Jake of Bluefield, Virginia and Jae Sluss of Ashville, Alabama; one son, Bobby Sluss of Bowling Green, Kentucky; three sisters, Ruth Edwards and husband William of Ocala, Florida, Rita Stanley and husband Roger of Hardy, Kentucky, Sandra Varney and companion Mike of Wirtz, Virginia; one brother, Jeff Hampton and wife Barbara of Pounding Mill, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Justin, Josh, Dyllon, Dakota, Adrianne, Lacy, Ethan, Brady and Hayden and many loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Virginia with the Rev. Carlos Hess officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Virginia. Friends may call Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Virginia. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
