Norma Jean Shrewsbury, 76, of Northview Avenue, Princeton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital after a short illness. She was born on March 25, 1937 in Monroe County, WV to the late Arnold and Myrtle Mann.
A graduate of Matoaka High School, class of 1954, prior to retiring from Princeton Community Hospital with 18 years of service in the Linen Department. She was an active member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church since 1972.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Mann, and a son, Tommy Dwayne Shrewsbury.
Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Dana Preston Shrewsbury; sons, Eddie Joe Shrewsbury and wife, Linda, of Blue Ridge, VA, and Ronnie Paul Shrewsbury, of Princeton; grandsons, Joseph Shrewsbury, Michael Shrewsbury, and Preston Donald Shrewsbury; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Jaxon, and Annie Rose Shrewsbury; and special friends, The Starkey Family: Robin, Mike, Shannon, and Hunter.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, September 16, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Dr. John King and Pastor Jim Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Friends and family will be serving as pallbearers.
