BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Ollie passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013, after a long illness. She has lived at Westwood Medical Center for the past several years. Many of the staff members at the center had become very special to Ollie and her family through the years.
Ollie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charles Homer Sr. and Mary Ellen Jones Roaten as well as a baby sister, Brenda Gail Roaten.
Survivors are brothers, Charles (Bubbie) Roaten Jr. and wife Joyce of Bedford, Va., and William (Rusty) Roaten of Bluefield. Sisters, Bessie Fields of Bedford, Va., Margaret (Teny) Spicer of Moline, Ill., Betty Roaten and special friend Bob Lawson of Bluefield, Barbara (Bobbie) Angles and husband Joe of Hillsdale, Ill., and Peggy Hecker and special friend Mike Nunan of Bluefield, Va.
Ollie has many special nephews and nieces, great-nieces and nephews, as well as step-nieces and nephews that meant very much to her.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A service to celebrate the life of Ollie will be held Saturday, September 14 at 1 p.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Bassett officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home Saturday from 12 noon till the hour of the service.
