Ruby Neely

PRINCETON — Ruby Geraldine Neely, 68, of GlenWood Park Retirement Village, formerly of Princeton, died Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born March 24, 1945 at Worth, she was the daughter of the late James Clay Powers and Hattie Edwards Powers.

Ruby was a 1964 graduate of Matoaka High School. She was a former employee of Roses Department Store and Southern Highlands in Princeton. She attended Rogers Street Community Church in Princeton. She had been a resident of GlenWood Park Retirement Village for the past 10 years where she enjoyed playing bingo and fishing with her friends there. She enjoyed watching television and movies in her spare time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant twin daughters, Cindy and Sandy; two sisters, Louise Eason and Daisy Powers and six brothers, Ernest Powers, Raymond Powers, Eugene Powers, Leonard Powers, Samuel Powers and Ray Powers.

Survivors include her former husband and father of her children, Rex Neely, Sr. of Princeton; one son, Rex Neely, Jr. of Green Valley; two daughters, Dana Neely of Princeton and Kelley Neely of Parkersburg; two grandchildren, Rex Neely, III and Tiffani Neely both of Princeton; one sister, Patricia Farmer of Roanoke, VA and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Gene Pennington officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ruby Neely to GlenWood Park Retirement Village, 1924 Glenwood Park Road, Princeton, WV 24739.

Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until the service hour on Tuesday, August 27 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
