SOUTH DAYTONA, Fla. —
Mr. Marrs was born in Nemours W.Va., and retired after 20 years as a sales representative for R & T Electric Company in Bluefield. He moved to New Smyrna Beach, Fla. in 1993 from Bluefield before moving to South Daytona two years ago.
He was a member of Coronado Community United Methodist Church, New Smyrna Beach and enjoyed coin collecting. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid Jimmy Johnson fan.
Survivors include daughter, Angella Hawkins and her husband, Jeep of New Smyrna Beach; son, Clifton L. Marrs of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Shirley Gilmore of Spring, Texas; granddaughter, Savanah Ashley Hawkins of New Smyrna Beach; nephew, Jack Gilmore and his wife Jenny, of Spring, Texas; lifelong friend, Buddy Cochran of Va., and many friends in New Smyrna Beach and South Daytona. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Peggy J. Marrs in 2006.
Memorial service will be 5:30 PM Friday, May 24, 2013 at Coronado Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert C. Brown, Pastor, officiating.
