KEYSTONE — Born March 9, 1943 in Elkhorn, W.V. he was the son of the late Dillard Quesenberry and Bina Sparks Quesenberry.

He was a 1961 graduate of Northfork High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served three years. He was one of the first paramedics in McDowell County where he worked for the North-Elk Rescue Squad in Keystone, W.Va., he was a former police officer for the town of Keystone, W.Va. He was a former employee of Cannelton Coal Co., at Superior, W.Va. and last worked for the Consolidated Coal Co. at Buchanan #1 in Oakwood, Va. He was a member of the Welch Masonic Lodge, he was affiliated with the Church of God Faith, he was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother. He was a resident of McDowell County most of his life.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

He leaves to cherish his memory: His loving and devoted wife of 50 years Brenda Mitchell Quesenberry of the home; His daughter, Carla O’Dell and husband Rex of Bluefield, W.Va.; His son Chris Quesenberry and fiancee Teresa Hartwell of Princeton, W.Va.; Granddaughter Kylee Renae O’Dell of Bluefield, W.Va. Grandson Ashton O’Dell of Princeton, W.Va.; three Brothers Hurley Quesenberry and wife Becky of Elkhorn, W.Va., Bill Quesenberry and wife Delores of Fayetteville, N.C., Danny Quesenberry of Princeton, W.Va. also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 24, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, W.Va., with the Rev. Michael Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, W.Va., where Military Graveside services will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard and the West Virginia National Guard Honor Guard.

Friends may call Thursday night at the Widener Funeral Home, Northfork, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Serving as Pallbearers will be Danny Quesenberry, Rex O’Dell, Ronnie Graighead, Chris Quesenberry, and Mike Mallory. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Widener, Mike Widener, and Kenneth Widener.
