Virginia Yates Rose

PRINCETON — Virginia Yates Rose, 66, of South Avenue, Princeton, died, late Thursday evening, July 19, 2012 at Westwood Health Center in Bluefield, Va. Born May 22, 1946, in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Everette Yates and Lacy Gray Brooks Yates. Virginia was educated in Bluefield and for several years worked at Kresge's Department Store and later for Wee Tots Day Care in Bluewell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings; Paul, Vernon, Walter, Frances and Evelyn.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Nelson Rose; two stepsons, Bruce Rose and wife, Judy of Bluefield, and Terry Rose and wife, Rhonda of Princeton; three stepgrandchildren, Dr. Terra Rose of Raleigh, N.C., Michael Rose of Rock, and Kristy Rose of Bluefield, Va.; two great-stepgrandchildren, Tanner and Hunter; and two siblings, Scotty Yates of Mississippi and Velva Day of Princeton.

Memorial services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, July 22, 2012 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Mike Marshall officiating. A time of sharing and gathering will be held Sunday from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
