PRINCETON — Billie Jean Cooper, 62, of the Lilly Highway Addition, Princeton, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, after a short illness.

Born April 23, 1951, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Jack Thompson and Polly Hughes Thompson Thomas, and the late grandparents, Alma and Grover Thompson.

Billie Jean was a professional dog groomer and worked at the Senior Center building where she loved to assist the seniors in our community. She was of the Baptist faith, was always willing to help other people and would do anything for anybody.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 15 years, Lafon Cooper of Princeton. Her daughter, Melissa Dennis (Missy) of Latta, SC. Four stepchildren, Timothy Cooper and Robin Zurcher, and Terry Cooper all of Latta, SC, Elizabeth Medlin and husband Jamie of Florence, SC; 12 grandchildren; 3 very special grandchildren: Brantley Dixon and husband Maxwell, Rushod Dennis and Key'Mony Hamer all of Latta, SC; 6 great grandchildren. Special aunt, Elizabeth Poe and special niece, Dottie Hardin, and special cousin, Garnett Evans. And her extended family, Dipti and Kat Patel, Alice and Jasper Skeens, of Princeton, Brenda and Bobby Bucy of Lakeview, SC, and Drema Isom of Bozoo.

The family has honored Billie Jean's request, her body has been cremated. Memorial services will be held 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Willowbrook Baptist Church near Princeton with Pastor Emory Merchant officiating.
