Kenneth McCormick

PRINCETON — Kenneth Edward McCormick, 82, of Princeton, died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born January 6, 1931 at Jenkinjones, he was the son of the late Fletcher McCormick and Mary Elizabeth Smith McCormick.  

Mr. McCormick was a member of the Kee Street United Methodist Church in Princeton. He was a graduate of Beaver High School in Bluefield. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He retired from EIMCO, formerly Coppinger Machinery Service, in Bluefield where he was a welder for 32 years. He was a fan of WVU football and enjoyed bowling, golf and fishing. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Janice McCormick, Helen Goodman, Ruth Dalton, Opal Hamro and Betty O'Bryan; and five brothers, Gail McCormick, Dwight McCormick, Marvin McCormick, Jackie McCormick and Curtis McCormick.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Delores Winfrey McCormick of Princeton; one daughter, Patti Charlene Lindamood and her husband Ronald of Fuquay-Varina, NC; and one grandson, Chase Lindamood of Fuquay-Varina, NC.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Ray Stonestreet and the Rev. Richard Lindamood officiating. Entombment will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Princeton where military honors will be conducted by the WV National Guard Honor Guard. Family will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth's name to Kee Street United Methodist Church, 311 Kee St., Princeton, WV 24740 or to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 21, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
