CHERRYVILLE, N.C. —
Mary Jan Brown Thompson, 84, of 111 Harrillson Road, formerly of Bluefield, WV, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, NC. She was born in Tazewell County, VA on Jan. 20, 1929 and was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Vestal Brown.
Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker, loving mother and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Bluefield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Donald Thompson and 13 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her children, Curtis Thompson, Bluefield, WV, Martha Davis (Don), NC, and Debbie Wingfield (Russell), NC.; grandchildren, Mark Davis, MD, Leslie Miller, NC, Colton Thompson, Princeton, WV, Donna Thompson and Kelcie Thompson, both of Bluefield, WV; three great-grandchildren, Devyn, Skyler and Caleb Miller; siblings, Mattie Carter, Bluefield, VA, Molly Bogle, Mt. Airy, NC, Ann Lowe, North Tazewell, VA and Austin Brown, Tip Top, VA
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, Va. with the Rev Edward Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens with family serving as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family tonight from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
