BLUEFIELD, Va. — BLUEFIELD, Va. – Mildred E. Puckett, 93, of Westwood Health Center Bluefield, Va. and formerly of Bluefield, W.Va., died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Westwood.

Born June 5, 1920 in Bluefield, W.Va. she was a daughter of the late, Robert Buford Yost and Annie Peters Yost.

She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Midway Christian Church of

Bluefield. She enjoyed doing crafts, ceramics, doll collecting and cooking. She was the last member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George McKinley Carroll; and her second husband, Clovis H. Puckett; and brothers, Robert B. Yost, Jr. and Albert C. Yost.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara G. Hurst and her husband Roger of Troutville, Va.; a son, Larry M. Carroll and his wife, Vicky of Bluefield, W.Va.; a step-daughter. Annie Patteson of Princeton; three grandchildren, Ronnie Hurst and his wife, Kelly of Cranberry Twp, Pa., Scott Hurst of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Cyndi Lucente and her husband, Tom of Richmond, Va.; two step-grandchildren, Sandra Patteson Spivey and her husband, Jerry of Bluefield, W.Va. and Carol Carbaugh and her husband, Richard of Daniels, W.Va.; nine great-grandchildren and her extended family at Westwood.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Dan Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens Cemetery in Bluefield, Va. where grandsons and members of her church will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday October 9, 2013 at Mercer Funeral Home

from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
