Ursia Martin Wyrick

PRINCETON — PRINCETON — Ursia Martin Wyrick, 90, of Bluefield Avenue, Princeton, died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tenn. following a long illness.

Born February 5, 1923, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late, David Martin & Daisy McKenzie Martin.

Ursia was educated in Princeton and was a faithful member of Kee Street United Methodist Church in Princeton. She retired from Celanese Corporation in Narrows, Va. with more than 40 years of service.

While her health permitted, she enjoyed square dancing with her late husband, and then line dancing at the Mercer County Commission on Aging recreation building.  Ursia was also a member of the Princeton Photography Club and the Mercer County Historical Society.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Homer Wyrick, along with her nine brothers and sisters, Max, Clayton, and Kenny Martin, Iva Williamson, Irene Winesett, Clarice Bohon, Violet Martin, Bernice Ferri and Sylvia Simmons.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include, her two daughters, Cassandra “Sandy” Watkins of Hermitage, Tenn., Myrtle Elizabeth “Beth” Thompson and husband, Bobby of Lebanon, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Terry Dixon and husband, Darrell, Mike Thompson, Keith Watkins and wife, Cynthia, Craig Watkins, Crystal Watkins; six great-grandchildren,

Brenna, Hunter, Erica, Leah, Madison, and Joshua; three great-great-grandchildren, Micah, Tatum and Tanner.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 3, 2013, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Ray Overstreet officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.

Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Friends & Family may share online condolences via www.memorialfd.com

Ursia's nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The Wyrick family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
