RAVEN, Va. —
Myrtle Marie Palmer, age 67, of Raven, Virginia died Friday, September 27, 2013 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tennessee. She was born June 8, 1946 at Richlands, Virginia and was a daughter of the late William Graham Monk and Ruby Kathleen Lester Monk. She was a lifelong resident of the Richlands area and was a 1964 Graduate of Richlands High School; she was a former employee of Eastern Isles Manufacturing.
Survivors include: Her husband, Garland Palmer; two daughters: Mrs. Kathy Marie Blevins and husband, Michael of White Top, Virginia, Mrs. Melissa Ann Miller and husband, Danny of Swords Creek, Virginia; one son: Aubrey Eugene Palmer and wife, Melissa of Wytheville, Virginia; four sisters: Jean Mitchell and Kathy Mitchell and husband, Jimmy all of Wardell, Virginia, Faye McGhee of Richlands, Virginia, Nancy Monk of Charlottesville, Virginia; one brother: William Graham “Buddy” Monk, Jr. and wife, Donna of Wardell, Virginia; five grandchildren: Misty Miller, Kristy Miller Fletcher, Ethan Eugene Hubbard, Amber Palmer, and Ashley Palmer; one great-granddaughter: Alexis Anderson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Marie Palmer will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Reverend Dennis White officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
