JOLO — JOLO — Brenda (Sue) Sparks, 60, of Jolo, W.Va., passed away at her home Tuesday, September 17, 2013.

Sue was born October 19, 1952, in Welch, W.Va., a daughter of the late, Gilbert and Pinkie Mitchell Day. She was a Christian, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her time was spent taking care of others; always putting them first and never thinking of herself. She opened her home and heart to so many; especially kids, always sharing her delicious food with all who came to her home. She was a friend to many, always extending her hand and heart. She will be sadly missed and remembered with love by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ethel Day and Rita Day Adams.

Survivors include her husband, Frankie Sparks of the home; a daughter, Melissa “Missy” Sparks Green and husband, David of Jolo, W.Va.; a son, Marcus Sparks and wife, Sandi of Marytown, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Brittany Green of Jolo, W.Va.; a step-granddaughter, Brittany Brady of Welch, W.Va.; two step-great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and C.J. of Welch; two brothers, Chris Day and wife, Penny, and Tommy Day and wife, Yvonne, all of Jolo, W.Va.; two sisters, Darlene Payne and Betty Lou Day, both of Paynesville, W.Va.; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 20, 2013, at 12 o’clock, with Pastor Charlie Rose, the Reverend Homer Blankenship, and the Reverend Doug Blankenship officiating at the Family Worship Center in Jolo, W.Va. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery at Wolfpen Hollow near Jolo, W.Va. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at the Family Worship Center in Jolo, W.Va., Thursday evening, September 19, 2013, after 6 p.m.

Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger is assisting the family.
