Richard Glynn Maxey, 54, of Broadway Street, Princeton, died peacefully early Friday morning, April 19, 2013 at his residence.
Born July 11, 1958 in Princeton, he was the son of the late Dennis Daniel Maxey and Mary Lou Jones Maxey.
Ricky was a graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1976. He was a hard working man, an avid wood worker and for many years made cabinets and counter tops.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin Maxey and his twin brother Ronnie Maxey, and a good friend, Garnet.
He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted and loving wife of 34 years, Betty Akers Maxey. A special son, Dennis and a very special grandson whom he loved dearly, Zachary Maxey. Sister, Patricia Lankford. Special nephew, Jonathan Maxey, whom he was raising. Special niece, Virginia Wade whom he took into his home. Brother-in-law, Dougie Akers all of Princeton. And his four legged friends whom he loved, Shorty and Rocky.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Dr. David Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Symns, Jonathan Maxey, Wayne Hill, Kenny Farley, Jessie Collins and Rossie Mitchem.
