KEYSTONE — Normon Rotenberry, age 51, of Burke Mt. near Keystone, W.Va., died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield, W.Va.
Born March 7, 1962 in Bluefield, W.Va., he was the son of Raymond Rotenberry of Burke Mt. and the late Donna Gay Smith Rotenberry. He was a 1980 graduate of Northfork High School, he was a coal miner, working for Arcelor Mittal Coal Co. in Eckman, W.Va. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he was an avid gardener, and was always happy to be with his family. He was raised in the Baptist faith, and had been a resident of Burke Mt., all his life.
Other than his mother, Donna Gay Smith Rotenberry, he was preceded in death by one sister, Teresa Rotenberry; one nephew, Chris Rotenberry; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his father-in-law, Charley Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His loving wife of 32 years, Tina Johnson Rotenberry of the home; three sons, Eric Rotenberry and wife Christie of Powhatan, W.Va., Jonathan Rotenberry and wife Erica of Bluefield, W.Va., Justin Rotenberry of Burke Mt.; his father, Raymond Rotenberry and his wife Sheree of Burke Mt.; four grandchildren, Brendon Rotenberry, Paiton Rotenberry, Jackson Dillow, and Tristan Yopp; two brothers, Ralph Rotenberry and wife Debbie of Burke Mt., Terry Rotenberry and wife Kim of Greensboro, N.C.; one sister, Cayla Rotenberry of Beckley, W.Va.; his mother-in-law, Margaret Johnson of Bluefield, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 19, 2013, at 12:00 noon, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Powhatan, W.Va. with Father Paul Manickathan and Father Harold Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at the Rotenberry Farm Cemetery on Burke Mt. near Keystone, W.Va.
Friends may call on Thursday night at the Widener Funeral Home, Northfork, from 6 to 8:00 p.m.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
